H23-蒔絵箸 しのぶ
忍は平安時代から縁起の良い文様とされ、現代でも注連縄や正月飾りに広く用いられています。
二つの葉が相対する形は夫婦円満の象徴であり、裏が白いことは共に白髪になるまでの長寿を意味しています。また常緑で冬でも鮮やかな緑を保つことから、一家の繁栄を表すともいわれています。
色は黒・朱・溜（ため）の3色です。
＊蒔絵とは漆で文様を描き、金粉や銀粉を蒔いて磨き上げる日本独自の加飾方法です。上質な漆と金銀の輝きは食卓の小さな芸術です。

Shinobu has been considered an auspicious motif ince the Heian period (794-1185) and is still widely used today for shimenawa (sacred straw ropes) and New Year decorations.
The two opposing leaves symbolises marital bliss, while the white underside means long life until they both turn grey. It is also said to represent family prosperity, as it is evergreen and remains bright green even in winter.
It is available in three colors: black, vermilion and tame(Translucent lacquer on red).
"Maki-e" is a unique Japanese decoration method in which patterns are drawn in lacquer, sprinkled with gold or silver powder, and polished. The luster of fine lacquer and gold or silver powder is a small art for the dining table.
