秋になると真っ赤に美しく紅葉する楓の葉は、春の桜と並んで古くから愛されてきました。唐草や波、流水、鹿など、他の文様と合わせた文様も数多く作られています。色づいた紅葉を眺めながら宴を催し、夏に疲れた体を癒して収穫を祝ったのが紅葉狩りの始まりとされています。
色は黒・朱・溜（ため）の3色です。

＊蒔絵とは漆で文様を描き、金粉や銀粉を蒔いて磨き上げる日本独自の加飾方法です。上質な漆と金銀の輝きは食卓の小さな芸術です。

Maple leaves, which turn beautiful red in autumn, have long been loved alongside cherry blossoms in spring. Many patterns have been made in combination with other patterns, such as arabesques, waves, running water and deer. Maple leaf viewing is said to have originated when people held parties while admiring the coloured leaves and celebrating the harvest after a tiring summer.
It is available in three colors: black, vermilion and tame(Translucent lacquer on red).

"Maki-e" is a unique Japanese decoration method in which patterns are drawn in lacquer, sprinkled with gold or silver powder, and polished. The luster of fine lacquer and gold or silver powder is a small art for the dining table.
